This setup will provide a link between your personal Office365 OneDrive storage and and a hard drive on your computer.  Everything that is synced through this will be accessible via OneDrive at office.com  



(Finding OneDrive on Office.com)

Mac

  1. Open the OneDrive app
  2. You will be prompted to enter you email address.  This should be the address that you use to log into Confluence, firstname.lastname@schoolemail
    1. If it doesn't pop up automatically with a sign in option.  Click on the OneDrive icon in the top right on your screen and click on the sign in button 
  3. Enter your password and click through all the nexts to the end
  4. You will find a folder under you user tab called OneDrive - Adventist Schools Australia.  Your local IT help will be able to help you locate the user folder on your machine
  5. You are able to drag that folder into the sidebar to create shortcut the folder whenever you need it


















Windows

  1. Open the OneDrive app

    1. If it doesn't pop up automatically with a sign in option.  Click on the OneDrive icon in the bottom right on your screen and click on the sign in button 
  3. Enter your password and click through all the nexts to you get to the following screen
    2. Here you will have the option to sync everything on your Desktop, in your Documents folder and in your picture area on your windows machine
    3. This will create 3 folders in OneDrive called Desktop, Documents and Photo's and create live backup on what is in there.  If you don't want these unselect these options.
  4. You will find a OneDrive - Adventist Schools Australia Icon in the side bar area of your File Explorer
    2. Here you see the files that you are syncing from your OneDrive account and a copy (not taking up space) of your Desktop, Document and Pictures (if selected a the backup in the setup phase)


If you chose the backup option you can just keep editing and adding documents to your desktop and documents folders and they sync online while you are connected to the internet.  If you didn't chose that option only files that in the OneDrive space on your computer will sync online.


Access Preferences

To access preferences

  1. Click on the OneDrive icon in the taskbar
  2. Click on Help and Settings
  3. Click on Preferences

Choosing Folders

If you don't want to sync everything that is on OneDrive to your computer do the following steps

  1. Click on the Accounts (Preferences)
  2. Click Choose Folders
  3. Click on which folders you want available on your computer

  1. Click on the arrow for extra application on the bottom right 
  2. Click on the OneDrive icon
  3. Click on Help and Settings
  4. Click on Setting

  1. Click on the Accounts (in Settings)
  2. Click Choose Folders
  3. Click on which folders you want available on your computer



Changing Backup Folders

If you want to change you Backup options later

  1. Click on the Backup (in Settings)
  2. Click Manage Backup
  3. Click on either Stop Backup or the tick in the top right (after you have clicked on the folder) to start backup
